my apartment
My apartment rarely is fully clean and/or organized. I happen to get in a spring cleaning mood last night. So, I decided to make a quick video tour of my place...with yours truly narrating.

as of late...
well, I scored at Michael's today. They had ALOT of their art supplies on sale. I lasted about 20 minutes, though, and had to go sit out in the car and wait for mom. (still rebuilding my strength. lol)
so, first time playing with watercolors.. (a little bit of acrylic in there, too)
I love it! It is so much fun! I can't wait to play more!
Not sure if you guys have seen this, but it is so amazing and funny!
My cousins and 1 yr old Tilly are in from England. I hope I get to see them before they head back. I was supposed to this weekend...but, life decided to throw me a curve ball (infection). :P
these two crazy cats are 2 more of my cousins. this has to be my fave photo of Carter. I have NO idea what he thought was THAT funny! But, this is just too cute not to share.
I got Apple TV box and love it. I have been watching high def Walking Dead Season 3. For $40 I get the season pass and own all the episodes. Love it!

cracking me up!

update
Well... this has been one of the craziest experiences I have been through. I say crazy now..like it's funny. If you would have asked me 24 hours ago, I would have said I was dying and asked you host my pity party.
As mentioned below, I am recovering (on week 3 now) from a bacterial infection. I was released from the hospital last thursday. Unfortunately, I think my mom and I brought home a little friend. aka the flu bug. Ugh! Yes, i am serious. Sunday night consisted of dry heaves every hour throughout the night. That also meant no food, no pain meds and having to clean/pack my healing wound without said pain meds.
If ANYONE knows me when i am sick, I sound like a dying cow. I am a huge drama queen. I cry and gag and cry and it's just a huge ordeal when I am throwing up. Or dry heaving, in this case.
By the 5th trip to the bathroom, mom couldn't even get up off the couch anymore. The bug finally caught up with her, too.
I seriously thought I was dying.. sometimes wishing I was.
Luckily, this bug was a fast one. Monday was spent eating a few crackers and drinking sprite. While, every hour or so, mom (in the living room) and me (in the bedroom) yelled back and forth to each other "are you ok?" "yes, are YOU ok?"
Today, I am feeling sooo much better! I actually got part of a sandwich down and I got to start my meds again. (antibiotics and pain killers).
I thank God so much for seeing us through this. And I thank my neighbors (Sara and Sean) for bringing us sprite, food, ibuprofen, love, etc.
I even had a couple of my customers from work send flowers to my home yesterday. (I probably scared the crap out of the delivery guy.. I pretty much looked like a new cast member of The Walking Dead)
Anyways, mom and I are feeling much better. I have a checkup with my surgeon tomorrow. She will make sure that the infection is still going down and the wound is healing from the inside out...like it should be.
I am *hoping* to go back to work on Monday, at least part days.
It has been so gorgeous here lately. I have been opening the windows. The warm breeze seems to help strengthen me.
I hope everyone is well out there.

what's going on (reading side effects: drowsiness, boredom, wishing back the 5 minutes of your life that it took to read this)
Most of you know, or have seen some little snippets here and there, that I am in the hospital. It has been such a weird oncoming issue, that up until now, it was hard to tell people what was going on. Because we (me, doctors, etc) really didn't know what was going on ourselves. There were too many variables in the beginning stages that as soon as I told my friends what was up or how I felt... it would change 4 hours later. Make sense? No? Didn't think so.
So, here is what happened. Sunday, 3/24, I had some major pain in my leg.
By Tuesday, I had found (touched) a large, hard mass underneath the skin. Dr. Weber, a general surgeon, saw me in her office that morning. She said that it was an abscess caused by an infection (most likely bacterial...and we find out later that it is). The hard mass I was feeling was actually soft tissue that had become inflammed and hardened surrounding the infection. After receiving a local anesthetic, she preformed an I & D (incision and drain).
As Dr. Weber had suspected, the abscess was still in early stages and was too hardened to allow any infection (puss) to drain there in the office. The only thing she could do, at that time, was to send me home with pain pills and antibiotics. With the medicine and continually taking sitz baths, we hoped that it would break up the hard tissue, allowing the area to drain on its own. THIS IS IN THE PERFECT WORLD. And of course this did not happen....
Days went by and there was absolutely no drainage, only buildup of pressure and pain. 4:30 Saturday morning, I woke up in pain that could no longer be ignored. Amy picked me up and we were at the ER by 4:45am.
Once back in one of the ER rooms, the ER Dr immediately gave me a shot of morphine. (whew, relief for a bit) Amy stayed by my side the whole time. The ER Dr decided to perform another I & D. This time being on a larger scale. Fortunately, he decided to knock me out before he did the I & D.
**insert traumatic experience** (may give full details at a later time)
I am then admitted into the hospital, given percocets and the abscess finally starts to drain. yay, right?
Weeellll... not all the way...
..
Monday morning, Dr Weber is back in the office. She comes over to look at the area and is not satisfied with how slow it's taking to drain/heal. So off to get a CT scan I go. Apparently the Dr did not like what she saw in the CT scan either and rushed to get me into surgery.
Monday afternoon I had surgery to open up a deeper part of the infection that was not softening up.
All 3 times that I had a procedure they did a culture on it. And every time, the cultures only grew skin flora. Skin Flora is the "good" bacteria that everyone should have in their bodies.
Two doctors from infectious diseases took a look at the area as well, to make sure that we were on the right treatment path.
The first part of yesterday was the most painful thing I had ever been through. Soreness from the surgery and a dressing change led to a couple of mini meltdowns. (I will spare you the gory details of the packing change) Fortunately, my nurses have been wicked awesome and very patient with me.
Yesterday afternoon was met with significant relief. I actually got around 6 hours of sleep last night.
Today, my Dr AND the infectious disease doctors say that it is looking ALOT better and that we truly are on the way to recovery. Dr Weber is hoping to release me on Friday. There is going to be even more home after-care. Daily dressing changes, multiple sitz baths, antibiotics, etc for the next couple of weeks.
So, I am on the RIGHT road to recovery. All prayers are welcomed and highly appreciated.

vida del proyecto
I used the Today handbook by Studio Calico for my "version" of Project Life. I am taking it more as a monthly snapshot. And it's a mini album. This will be my first year doing this. I am loving it so far!
Used Allison's Every Eclectic journaling cards, as a whole, for the inside PL cover.
I am so relaxed about this album, that I will fill that pocket when the inspiration hits. ha
alot of the fillers are from Dearest Someday. You have got to check Jennifer's designs out. They are so subtle yet carry an amazing creative punch! love her work!
Love the ampersand card by Allison Kreft.
the currents card is a downloadable from Tina Azsmus.
I am having so much fun creating this thing. Even though I am working about 2 months behind. hahah
