I fell in love with this curtain from Urban Outfitters. Since, I already have a black bed and all white bedding. This will be a cost effective way to redo my whole bedroom (instead of getting new comforters, shams, etc). Alot of the wall art I can create myself. And the throw pillows I can find here and there, inexpensively. but, I do LOVE this color/pattern scheme.

Lauren's Yearbook
One of my friends had me make a 12x12 album (yearbook-type of thing) for her daughter. She graduated highschool last year. I really wanted this to be a SCRAPbook. Pieces of memorabilia, pockets, hidden places for her to journal. Ways that she can change up the order of the pages or, in a lot of places, change out the photos herself. The cover is a collage made with mod podge.

7 tiny humans
well, my birthday weekend was wonderful. it got off to a rocky start. turning 35 and nursing a heartbreak does NOT do a body (or mind) good. but, I got by...with a little help from my friends (and family).
saturday consisted of my family coming to STL to go to the zoo. this included my 3 nephews (actually the main reason we all went). it was such a blast. the stingray pool was everyone's favorite part. i had such a great time watching my boys have fun with the animals.
staring contest with the penguin
they have perfected the fake smile.
After the zoo, a good long nap was well needed! after that, I met my friends in Soulard to listen to my brother's band play at Llywelyn's.
Tonight, I am trying out this DIY I found on Pinterest.
I will let you know how it goes..
me
this was posted on my typepad blog, but I think I am going to go back to blogger. So, I just reposted my 2 posts from there to here. : (5/14/12)
I have decided to try blogging again. I am kind of over Dirty Laundry, so came up with this name...which perfectly describes my life right now.
I turned 35 today and have decided that, moving forward, my happiness comes first. I used to always put everyone else first (especially the men in my life). And it hasn't gotten me anywhere. I am ready to put all that love and energy into myself. ..
With that being said, I am going to share all my adventures here at CitySingle. ... crafts/art, dating (the good, the bad AND the ugly), living in the city and all the funny stories that happen to my girlfriends and me.
hope you will enjoy reading and perhaps will even share a few stories with me, too.
Love After Love
The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
