Well... this has been one of the craziest experiences I have been through. I say crazy now..like it's funny. If you would have asked me 24 hours ago, I would have said I was dying and asked you host my pity party.
As mentioned below, I am recovering (on week 3 now) from a bacterial infection. I was released from the hospital last thursday. Unfortunately, I think my mom and I brought home a little friend. aka the flu bug. Ugh! Yes, i am serious. Sunday night consisted of dry heaves every hour throughout the night. That also meant no food, no pain meds and having to clean/pack my healing wound without said pain meds.
If ANYONE knows me when i am sick, I sound like a dying cow. I am a huge drama queen. I cry and gag and cry and it's just a huge ordeal when I am throwing up. Or dry heaving, in this case.
By the 5th trip to the bathroom, mom couldn't even get up off the couch anymore. The bug finally caught up with her, too.
I seriously thought I was dying.. sometimes wishing I was.
Luckily, this bug was a fast one. Monday was spent eating a few crackers and drinking sprite. While, every hour or so, mom (in the living room) and me (in the bedroom) yelled back and forth to each other "are you ok?" "yes, are YOU ok?"
Today, I am feeling sooo much better! I actually got part of a sandwich down and I got to start my meds again. (antibiotics and pain killers).
I thank God so much for seeing us through this. And I thank my neighbors (Sara and Sean) for bringing us sprite, food, ibuprofen, love, etc.
I even had a couple of my customers from work send flowers to my home yesterday. (I probably scared the crap out of the delivery guy.. I pretty much looked like a new cast member of The Walking Dead)
Anyways, mom and I are feeling much better. I have a checkup with my surgeon tomorrow. She will make sure that the infection is still going down and the wound is healing from the inside out...like it should be.
I am *hoping* to go back to work on Monday, at least part days.
It has been so gorgeous here lately. I have been opening the windows. The warm breeze seems to help strengthen me.
I hope everyone is well out there.
